Research Purpose – Gather insights on a product/product category in development stages, at the concept level, sensory level, and with respect to actual use.
Methodology – A sensory qualitative study which includes trial usage of a product that simulates home use. This research method makes it possible to upgrade traditional qualitative research by adding insights on sensory characteristics and through actual trial usage as well. The research area contains modern state-of-the-art kitchen stations that make possible trial use of a product at home under "laboratory" conditions.
-
In-depth discussion that makes possible, right from the development stages, product and concept exploration and understanding from the consumer's standpoint.
-
Overall product cohesion, including sensory insights for product improvement during its development (prior to a quantitative test) that are based on consumer insights and not just on internal discussions and tasting sessions.
-
Simulates a home usage trial (including an examination of usage and preparation).
-
Makes possible observation of product preparation among consumers, thereby making it possible to check instructions and preparation method and to draw lessons, even if the latter do not emerge directly from the consumer.
-
Makes it possible to attach menus and product usage tips, in accordance with insights and ideas that emerge from the discussion.
